Thursday night was the Grand opening of the relocated Angels & Kings bar inside the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago. Featuring intimate performances by Your Villain My Hero, Team Bayside High, and Black Cards (featuring Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy), the night proved to be grand, despite the weather outside. With a wind chill reaching 30 below and most of Michigan Avenue closed to make way for some political bigwigs, Angels & Kings still rocked out with a packed house.
The highlight of the night was the Black Cards set. Wentz, who donned a furry wolf hood with ears and warpaint throughout the night, held it down with Bebe Rexha, Black Cards' singer, and awed the packed Fender Ballroom with their pop and reggae influenced sound. "Club Called Heaven" and "Dominos" were the biggest crowd pleasers of the night.
After the show, the VIPs migrated to the red carpet and the first ever rounds were served at the new Angels & Kings Bar. The DJs kept the room bumping until the wee hours of the night, and Hard Rock Hotel Chicago officially welcomed the newest addition to its family, in grand style. Is there any other way?
