Orlando, Fla. – Hard Rock International – with locations from Bali and San Diego to Singapore and Macau – announces the opening of its first hotel in Latin America -- Hard Rock Hotel Panama Megapolis, located in the heart of Panama’s most scenic, elegant area of the Capital City, Balboa Avenue. In collaboration with Megapolis Investment Group and Decameron Group, the 66-floor hotel opened its first phase on April 16, 2012, featuring 500 rooms of its more than 1,400 total rooms.“Hard Rock International is very pleased with its collaboration between Megapolis Investment Group and Decameron,” said Michael Shindler, executive vice president of Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos. “The hotel will become an icon among the Panama skyline, and with support and ongoing cooperation, it will deliver the renowned Hard Rock vibe to the market and serve as a beacon for the entire Hard Rock brand.”

The government of Aruba selected Southwest Horeca Development, through an RFP process, to build the 310-room, beachfront Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, marking the initial step toward the development process. Upon opening, Hard Rock would manage the day-to-day operations of the property. While plans are in advanced stages, finalized contracts and financing details are still pending.

April 5, Northfield, OH. – Hard Rock International, owner of one of the world’s most iconic brands, announced today that it has entered into a joint venture and related agreements to acquire equity in, and to develop and operate a Hard Rock Gaming and Entertainment Facility at Northfield Park racetrack in Northeast Ohio. This proposed project is subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions, including a successful resolution of the pending litigation in Ohio regarding video lottery terminals (“VLTs”).
The proposed $275 million Hard Rock project would include a Hard Rock-branded gaming center, premium steakhouse, Hard Rock Cafe, ongoing lineup of live music and iconic music memorabilia from Hard Rock’s unmatched collection, as well as a center bar, buffet and conference and meeting space. The development is expected to generate approximately 1,000 permanent jobs, more than 1,000 construction jobs and countless jobs associated with local suppliers and vendors.

The much-anticipated awards were chosen based on financial performance, unique sales accomplishments, community contributions, creativity, strategic marketing, philanthropy, brand loyalty and leadership. The ceremony included the highly-coveted awards for “Company Worldwide Cafe of the Year,” given to the team at Hard Rock Cafe Venice; “Franchise Cafe of the Year,” awarded to Hard Rock Cafe Buenos Aires; “Franchisee of the Year” given to HRC Colombia; “Hotel of the Year,” presented to Hard Rock Hotel Orlando; and “Hotel & Casino of the Year” given to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi.
